Gyusang (Kevin) Hwang
I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Business Administration with a concentration in Tourism and Sport at Temple University’s Fox School of Business. My research examines how interactions within tourism and hospitality systems shape people, organizations, and places, with planned events as a central setting and complementary work on digital platforms and service relationships.
I use large-scale behavioral data, econometrics, spatial analysis, experiments, and evidence synthesis to examine consequences for businesses, communities, customers, and workers. Before entering academia, I worked across business travel and MICE, mega-events, and hospitality operations. These experiences continue to shape both the questions I study and the applied perspectives I bring into the classroom.
In my teaching, I focus on helping students build foundations they can carry beyond a single course while developing increasingly independent judgment as they advance through the curriculum.
2026–2027 Academic Job Market
I am currently seeking faculty opportunities in tourism, hospitality, events, and related business disciplines.
